MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER FOR BASIL DEBLASI OF BASIL'S BARBER SHOP SUNDAY SEPT 7TH AT THE LODGE AUCTION HOUSE
Basil Deblasi of Basil's Barber shop in South Buffalo passed away August 23, 2008 after a long battle with bone marrow cancer.
A memorial fundraiser will be held Sunday, September 7th from 2-6pm at the Lodge Auction House at 212 Cazenovia Street in South Buffalo.
$20 includes all the food you can eat, desserts, soft drinks, 1 beer. A cash bar is also available. The Lodge will have a TV for the Bills football game, live music, 50/50 raffle, and chinese auction including the following items: Microwave; Nintendo DS lite w/games; cash money; Veneto Silver necklace, earrings, and bracelet purchased from Jareds- The Galleria of Jewelry; gift certificates, theme baskets, and much more.

SOUTH BUFFALO ONLINE EXPANDING TO INCLUDE THE NEARBY SOUTHTOWNS
South Buffalo Online is expanding and will soon be officially launched as Southtowns Online Magazine. Featuring news and community info about South Buffalo, Lackawanna, West Seneca and nearby portions of Blasdell and Hamburg, the newly expanded format will also offer a new area with a focus on stretching a dollar in today's difficult economy.
Southtowns Online Magazine will feature local sales and specials in the Southtowns area helping shoppers find bargains close to home. The online magazine will bring together information about retail, grocery, services, travel, dining, entertainment and automobile sales.

KeyBank has significantly enhanced and revitalized its South Buffalo branch at 2157 Seneca Street in Buffalo.
The enhancements, unveiled at a ribbon cutting Tuesday, are part of a multi-year, nationwide branch revitalization program now under way at Key. By the end of 2009, several hundred branches across Key’s markets will have received technology upgrades and other features designed to enhance the overall banking experience for clients.
According to Gary Quenneville, senior vice president and head of Retail Banking for KeyBank’s Western New York District, clients will notice a number of new features at the renovated branch.
Exterior features include: - new rooflines or facades, - red awnings over the windows and ATMs, - enhanced lighting and - upgraded landscaping.

PEOPLE INC. OPENING NEW CENTER AT SENECA & INDIAN CHURCH
On July 14th People Inc. opened it's new day program center at Seneca St & Indian Church. The new office will offer a variety of opportunities for individuals with special needs to gain skills and independence in an urban setting and will be able to work with about 50 clients.
Some of the initiatives currently being put in place include working with the South Buffalo Education Center, volunteering at Harvest House and working with Meals on Wheels in the South Buffalo area.
People Inc. is also currently accepting applications from interested seniors for the Senior Apartment Housing Complex at Seneca St. & Cazenovia.
